Must Know Drinks for Every Bartender

There is nearly infinite possibilities when it comes to mixed drinks, but obviously some have lasted the tests of time and have become popular staples in bars across the world. As a bartender you should be able to pull these together drinks together with ease, and fashion. Without pulling out the recipe book could you pour these popular mixed drinks?

Whiskey Sour

  • 1 ½ oz. Whiskey
  • ¾ oz. sweetened lemon juice
  • 1 tsp superfine sugar

Shake with ice and serve straight up or over ice at customerís preference

Long Island Ice Tea

  • ½ oz. Vodka
  • ½ oz. Rum
  • ½ oz. Gin
  • ½ oz. Triple Sec
  • ½ oz. Tequila
  • ½ oz. Sour mix
  • Cola

Shake the first five ingredients over ice and strain into glass and fill with cola.


  • 2 oz. Gin
  • Dash Extra Dry Vermouth

Shake or stir as preferred by the customer, pour over ice. Strain and serve in cocktail glass with no ice and garnish with a twist or an olive.


  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • ½ oz. Cointreau
  • Squeeze of juice from lime wedge
  • ½ oz. Cranberry Juice

Shake with ice and strain into martini glass.


  • 1 ½ oz. Seagramís 7 Whiskey
  • 3 oz. 7-Up

Combine over ice


  • 1 ½ oz. Tequila
  • ½ oz. Triple Sec
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

Combine ingredients and strain into martini glass. Salt the rim at the customerís preference, garnish with a lime.
